That was a comment from the founder and CEO of Great Ocean Road RV, Mark Strachan, just a couple of years ago! GORRV was born out of "cabin fever" - being unable to escape to international destinations (or even some Aussie ones) in the midst of flight and travel restrictions in 2020. After vacationing and working in more than 30 countries, some of the best trips I've had have been mini self-drive vacations - right in my backyard, like Victoria, Tassie and SA. The picture at right is us owning the beach, just metres from our Motorhome in Stanley, Tasmania.
Driving a motorhome isn't difficult!
All of our Motorhomes and Campervans are Class C, which can be driven on a standard licence. We even give you a test drive (with or without us) and assist with any questions at your Holiday Handover. Add to this our 8am-8pm/7 Day human helpline and the ingredients to a great vacation are all there.

Being discerning travellers ourselves, we embodied many of the ideas from our trips into the design and construction of our Luxury Beachfront Home, "Totties Place" at Wye River. Rented to numerous holiday-makers, Totties also featured on Channel 9's "Postcards" as well as many magazines and books. Though sadly lost to the Black Christmas Bushfires in 2015, that setback gave us the opportunity to create an exciting new travel accommodation business - Great Ocean Road RV Hire.
